Community Support Service Provider

Located throughout the New Jersey Counties of Passaic, Morris and Sussex, we provide professionally based social services, including Behavioral Health Programs, Veterans Services, Children’s Programs, Senior and Aging Services and much more.

Community Support Service Provider— Meals on Wheels

HOURS:

Part time, Non-exempt; hourly

Monday-Friday 9:00am-2:00pm

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Individual provides non-clinical support services to clients in the Meals on Wheels program and oversee volunteers. Enjoys working with the senior community. Job requires driving as well as office work,

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Complete home visits, using agency vehicles, to assess and/or register new clients for the Meals on Wheels program in Sussex County. Use personal vehicle when agency vehicle is not available (mileage reimbursement provided for use of own vehicle). Complete biannual reassessments for all Meals on Wheels clients every six months.

2, Identify client needs and changes to clients' health status during intakes and assessments.

3. Work with the Director to provide and follow up with appropriate referrals for clients.

4. Enter client data and other required databases (SAMS)

5. Assist with grant application preparations as directed.

6. Be able to work independently

7. Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement activities including data collections, ongoing monitoring and improvement initiatives.

8.Identify opportunities to improve operations, service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.

9. Oversee the volunteer program. Interview new volunteers, call and direct volunteers each morning on delivery routes, assign driver work sheets with anticipated routes,

10. Oversee the PSS building and volunteers, when the Director is not available, including, Meals on Wheels, Thrift Shop and Food Pantry

11. Attend CFCS, county, state or any other meetings when required, including zoom meetings. Assist with special projects and (fund raising events)

12. Attend and complete all training, in person or zoom, as required with CFCS, county and state.

13. Assist with the assembly and cleanup for meals for Meals on Wheels program when needed.

14. Fill in for Meals on Wheels driver and complete their assigned route when necessary, using project vehicles or personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use).

15. Must complete and pass a safe food-handling course

16. Have a good sense of direction and be able to use GPS

17. Responsible for other duties that will be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities,

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience in human services a plus.

  1. Position requires that this individual be able to lift 25 pounds.
  2. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office; data entry into multiple diverse systems; proficiency in using portable technological devises with touch screen (tablets)
  3. Superior customer service skills.
  4. Knowledge in food handling a plus,
  5. Valid NJ Driver's License
  6. Safe food handling certificate a plus.
