Security Guard - FECC

Security Guard FECC

Schedule per week: Monday-Friday 7:15am - 3:15pm

Location: Paterson, NJ

JOB SUMMARY:

Works in cooperation with all staff to maintain a safe facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitor the security of the buildings and parking lot, ensure that all entrance doors are closed at all times.

2. Responsible for monitoring who enters and exits the facilities onsite.

3. Walk through of building to ensure staff and client safety.

4. Directs all visitors, who are not parents or guardians, to the appropriate location.

5. Reports any problems to the Program Director, or Director's Designee.

6. Assists with all emergency emergencies, including evacuations, emergency drills, and de-escalation of crisis situations.

7. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances

8. Calls 9-1-1 for any emergency.

9. Write report of daily activities and irregularities (such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized person, or unusual occurrences).

7. Adhere to all FECC policies and procedures.

8. Demonstrate knowledge and competence related to the characteristics and needs of service recipients and the ability to effectively interact with clients.

9. Carry out additional tasks related to building security as requested by the Program Director or Director's Designee.

10. Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow work schedule as assigned by supervisor and/or administration (work schedule may change based on business need.)

Punch in/out via Paylocity every time you are on shift. Utilize the Paylocity App through a mobile or tablet device, or a computer.

Notify supervisor, prior to the start of your shift if unable to work due to sickness or personal emergency at least 6 hours in advance, when possible. Submit Paid Time Off (PTO) request via Paylocity on day of return to work after taking one or more days off.

Follow Catholic Charities-CFCS Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy when requesting time off.

Know, enforce, and follow CC-CFCS’s Policies and Procedures.

Complete all CC-CFCS’s required trainings for staff as scheduled

Keep Personnel file updated with regard to filing any new degrees or certificates, getting immunizations/medical test as required by licensing regulations and keeping any licenses and/or certificates current, etc.

Attend in-service trainings, staff meetings and supervisions as scheduled.

If applicable, attend all Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) subcommittees of which you are a member and actively participate.

When applicable, participate in internal/external investigations

Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, local state and federal

Travel to different program locations, meetings, trainings, etc. as assigned

Review all communication sent via email and Paylocity daily

Review Employee Handbook and CFCS’s policy and procedures thoroughly and acknowledge receipt annually

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or administration

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must have a valid N.J. Driver’s license.
  3. Bilingual-Spanish, preferred.
  4. A people person

  • Must possess dexterity, stand, sit, walk, lift and carry twenty-five pounds for short distances
