TITLE: Accounting Assistant
REPORTS TO: Sr Accounting Manager
Location: Current 508 Straight St. Paterson (will move to Parsippany in Jan 2026)
HOURS: 24 Hours Part Time (Monday through Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm 3 days a week)
This is an hourly non-exempt position. Part time (may convert to FT in due course).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic knowledge of accounting. Keen to learn.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Exceptional organizational skills and team-work attitude, friendly, courteous, professional. WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment and program locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Talking, answering telephones, ability to operate computers and office machines.
SUMMARY OF JOB: This position handles daily and routine bookkeeping tasks on both manual and computerized systems; processing of program vouchers, program cash disbursements, program credit cards, maintains consumer and program accounting files, records and related journals and reports, processing of invoices, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, maintains accounting files, records and related journals and reports. This position also handles documents that are confidential to the operations of the agency. This person must maintain the highest level of confidentiality. The employee will cooperate with the agency's administration and/or Division staff in any inspection or investigation.
